The Fourth District MPD Citizens Advisory Council (4D CAC) is a non-profit organization established in partnership with the Fourth District Police Headquarters and DC Metropolitan Police Department (DC MPD). The purpose of the 4D CAC is to communicate, collaborate and coordinate information on Public Safety matters for reducing crime and to enable 4D residents, businesses and organizations to assist in the tasks of supporting a team approach with our 4D MPD Commander and 4D Personnel (sworn officers and staff)
The 4D CAC also functions in an advisory capacity to the Fourth District Commander and to the MPD Chief of Police.
The Fourth District Citizens Advisory Council (4D CAC) is a District of Columbia Corporation filed on November 17, 2003 and reinstated on April 18, 2023. The corporation’s filing status is listed as Active with the DC Department of Licensing and Consumer Protection (DLCP).
The objectives of the 4D CAC include planning and implementing programs to develop neighborhood awareness, cohesiveness and responsibility for crime problems among citizens of the 4th District communities. The 4D CAC supports and expects the highest police standards of service and efficiency. The 4D CAC will conduct surveys of community needs which affect law enforcement and maintenance of peace in the community, and to publicize these needs as they are discovered.
The 4D CAC will involve citizens having a residence in or employment in the Fourth District. The 4D CAC will also involve Fourth District community and civic organizations or citizens having a business interest in the Fourth District. The 4D CAC will involve as many citizens and organizations as possible to maintain the public safety and improve police community relations, advise other appropriate government officials on matters as public safety, health, streets and sanitation within the Fourth District. The 4D CAC will also recommend policy changes in the proper oversight authority of the District’s police community relations and police coverage in the Fourth District service area.
